They say when you move to DC you either become a Virginia person or a Maryland person.

It’s safe to say I went for the Mary and avoided the Virgin.

I am NOT a Virginia person. I don’t know exactly what it is - maybe that they are legislatively the most anti-gay state in the country- but I know it’s more of a feeling than a reason.

As it turned out, I entered grad school when the Virginia Governor’s race was just starting out. KAINE (the god loving dem) V KILGORE (the god loving rep). Every professor used this race as an in class example.

Semester #1 - Prepare a campaign plan for Kaine or Kilgore. I chose Kilgore of course - I like a challenge. WOW - It was. Gurl is crazy.

Semester #2 - Prepare a paid media campaign for Kaine or Kilgore, inclusive of campaign commercials. Luckily I was put on the Kaine team for this class. I got to plan things out for the other team!

Semester #3 - Create a web strategy for Russ Potts, the Independent running for VA Governor. P.S. Russ Potts is a god loving ex-Republican now Independent. Gurl is more crazy than Killy.

You get the point. I’m VA’d out.

However, in honor of the election (its in less than two weeks!!) I am posting the campaign videos my team put together a few semesters ago.

Of course, as Karma would have it, I was chosen to be the candidate.

The first one we called ‘Values’ - we were trying to turn the issue of values around on the republicans by showing there were other values besides demonizing man lovin’:

The second one we called ‘Cheater’ - we were trying to highlight how many Virginians feared that Kilgore’s policies would do what the last Republican Governor’s policies did…almost bankrupt the state. Oh and Kilgore couldn’t come up with his own ideas so he stole them from Gilmore (the last Republican Governor):
