We made it back to DC safely. What a week!
I don’t think I can look at food - especially desserts - for about a month. I must have gained about 5 pounds while I was home ![]()
It was worth it. It was great being home and seeing my mom and dad’s new restaurant - a Pizza Place in Rhode Island - and visiting with the whole family.
It was great to see everyone so into making the restaurant work - here’s a pic of dad and Jen (my sis) working on a surprisingly busy day before Thanksgiving.
Everyone has come together to work and make the place amazing.
The pizza is out of this world! Real pizza cheese, fresh toppings, mmmm
It was exciting to see (and taste) it all in action. It made me happy to see everyone so happy too.
It was great visiting with my Memere (grandma for all you non-New England Frenchies) and my uncle Gary and everyone else I got to see while I was home.
Turkey Day dinner went over well. Everything John cooked people loved. Everything I cooked totally sucked! I still can’t believe it! I am usually a great cook, but this year my cook was off. Big time!
There’s always next year!
Clearly my uncle Gary enjoyed the food. He was one of many that passed out soon after we ate!
As good as it was to be HOME, it’s good to now be at home (DC). I only have a few weeks left of school - I will find out the exact date soon - so I am now focused on getting my Master’s wrapped up and on my big surprise
More to come on that in the upcoming weeks…
I hope all is well in blogland!

Great family and good food. Just doesn’t get much better than that.
No it doesn’t!
Welcome back!!
Rhode Island, huh? Too funny….I went to college and graduate school in RI. As I recall…..they take their pizza very seriously. I miss so9me of the old traditional pizza places we went to in Providence. Oh well. Glad you had a great vacation.
