Woohoo - Boston Day 2!
So today James and I got up and went to this place called the South End Buttery for brunch. James’ boyfriend Seth works there so I finally got to meet this boy I had heard so much about over the past few months.
James had an appointment to get his hair cut so after brunch we headed down to Newbury Street – one of the best, most central and most eclectic shopping streets in Boston.
While James was getting a trim I got a chance to wander around my old home city and take in all the big and small changes I could find.
For instance – the area where I used to work hasn’t changed a bit. The Fens are still the Fens (known in Boston as the place where super sketchy gay guys go to hook up anonymously – eww!) and my old work was still standing!
But the area I used to live – Kenmore Square – has changed so much! They put up a HUGEEEE hotel with all these shops and restaurants and a friggin’ T (what we call Boston’s metro) stop in the middle of it all! So neat!
After wandering around a bit I headed back to Newbury St to meet up with James. He needed to go to Cambridge to pick up something so I tagged along.
Along the way he got a call from his friend Mark at the MALE Center. He said he was interested in an interview but needed to do it that night! So we headed back to James’ place to get my equipment and then headed over to see Mark.
The interview was great – Mark was HILARIOUS and cute!
You can see his interview by clicking here.
We finished up at the MALE Center and then headed out to meet up with Seth and some of his work friends from the Buttery. We ended up at this place called the DeLux Café for dinner.
OMG – it was so neat in there! And since Boston is now smoke free it made eating in this dark and dank looking great diner place so great. I don’t know – I always associate diners with smoke so not having it smoky in there was wonderful.
The only weird thing is that the only take CASH?! Um…hello…this is like 2006. Cash is like so 20th century.
Well…then again it was a retro kinda place. Damn…it fits with their whole theme. Too bad their prices weren’t 1950 like!! Haha
Seriously though, it was reasonable and the sandwich I got was messy and delicious! MMMMM…

Buon luogo, congratulazioni, il mio amico!
