BREAKING NEWS - WTF?!

» by Justin in: My Life

As in “What the faucet?”

I’m in Blackstone right now and I have had a really crappy few days. Don’t get me wrong - I love being with my family - but my memere’s (grandmother’s) health has diminished to the point where she can’t do much on her own anymore and we need to put her into a nursing home.

This all happened so quickly - and it didn’t. Ugh. Well, tonight is the night we need to take her to the hopsital to have her admitted and then she will be going to a nursing home soon after.

So there’s that to deal with. I had to cancel an interview with the President of GLAAD in NYC today in order to be here with my family. I don’t mind - I need to be here - and Neil was really understanding.

On top of all this…the water supply in my ENTIRE TOWN has been shut off. Apparently it has been contaminated!

Terrorists…in Blackstone?!

“Officials say someone broke into the town’s water control building on Monday night, destroyed an electrical panel, then gained access to the storage tank next door.

During a routine inspection Tuesday morning, a five gallon bucket containing an unknown substance was found next to the tank. Town Administrator Ray Houle says it’s now on the way to a lab for testing.”

Of course I friggin’ leave DC - the center of potential terrorism - to get my water supply contaminated here in Blackstone. Seriously. WTF?

I mean - they went around the whole town with flyers that said you couldn’t even bathe with the water. They want us to dump our ice cubes out!

And of course…this was right before I was about to hop in the shower.

So I sit here…on my bed…seriously considering risking toxic exposure so I can shave and shower. Damn you vandals!!

WOW… I would be sitting there in bed asking myself the same thing… I guess for me it would really have to depend on how dirty I was and what my plans for the next day were, by that I mean, could I hold off for a while longer until a statement is issued about it? But it would be hard to do…

    Sorry to hear about memere…((hugs))

My name is Charles. I saw your link on My Kahil and thought I would check it out. Wow…that is kind of scary to think someone might have tampered with your water supply. My hopes and prayers are with your memere.

Kahil - We’re on day 2! But I’m just about to hop in the shower. Toxic sludge be damned!!

Thanks for the hugs :) Memere is taking everything well - which is good - but it’s gonna be a rough road for sure.

Charles - I’m so glad you stopped by! And thanks for commenting. It seems like they just arrested some teenagers so we’ll see what the real deal is on this whole mess. Thanks for your kind words about memere :)
