Journalists in Iraq

» by Justin in: Politics, Video

One of the things I try hard to avoid on my blogs is to rehash mainstream media news and/or provide commentary on stories in the mainstream media unless I feel extremely compelled to do so.

Well, when I saw this clip of a journalist in Iraq defending the coverage that she and her colleagues have been doing there I was compelled to share. She is well spoken and gave me a different perspective on the whole situation for journalists.

Wow.

You may enjoy this also - an Iraqi’s observations of Westerners occupying his country:

I’ve been addicted to Ann Garrel’s reporting ever since she detailed the first US bombings from her less-than-secure Baghdad hotel.

thanks for posting this. did everyone notice the sirens in the background toward the end of the video? bet they weren’t racing to help a boy who stubbed his toe at a playground opening.
