Mike Gin, Republican Mayor of California’s Redondo Beach, is speaking about his path to election and his campaign struggles.

He’s an eloquent speaker, but he’s saying exactly what you’d expect about being gay and running for office.

It was tough, there were gay issues that came up, but because he had walked around almost every part of the city people knew him and didn’t really go for the anti-gay line that was being pushed by his opponents.

The best line from his speech - a conservative religious women called him up and said his lifestyle was wrong and she thought he would pay in the afterlife but she wanted him to run her city. LOL ?!
