Every year Provincetown has a week long Carnival festival. Every year has its theme and all week long everyone has elaborate parties, extravagant costumes (drag GALORE), and expensive dinners.
This year the theme is “Gay Paree” which is a disappointment to me considering last year was “Heroes and Villans.” Dammit I would have made such a good Wonder Woman.
There are Eiffel Towers everywhere. Everywhere. Like Paris has nothing else… All us locals are discussing what to dress up as. I suggested Paris Hilton. I thought I was being funny. 5 other people said that was their costume. Not so original. So I said I’d add a charred stuffed Tinkerbell (her dog) and call it “Paris is Burning.” Oui Oui.
The restaurant was INSANELY busy last night. Busier than we’ve ever been. Carnival folk can eat AND drink. I had a total of 6 tables all night and made more than I have with 12. GLORIOUS.
Then again they were tables of like 9 and 5 people each.

My big table of 9 were a bunch of guys from Canada and Australia. They were competitors in the Out Games and Gay Games - rowers, volley ballers, etc - and two of them were bloggers! I gave them my info and took their pics so when they get home we can exchange pictures and blog links. I can’t wait!

Two of the boys - David and Rome (the two in the front of the pic of the 9 guys) - were from Vancouver and the sweetest guys ever. And…um…ADORABLE. It was table McDreamy
HAHA And they were good sports with the big wait on everything because we were so busy.
Matt and I stopped over at the A-House for a minute but didn’t see them.
I’m looking forward to making it up to Vancouver to visit though!
OK - my mom, dad, and sister are coming to visit today so I’m going to get ready. YAY! I can’t wait to see them. We’re doing dinner with some of their friends who are in town and then seeing a show. Don’t know which one yet but we’ll figure that out when they get here!!

another reason(s) to LOVE Canada & Australia!
I can’t wait to go to Sydney and Auckland next March for Mardi Gras! Woot Woot!
SERIOUSLY
haha
I’m so jealous of you Taylor! Take me!!
Justin,
I am tickled pink that you posted that picture of our group on your blog! I’m even more tickled to read what you said about David and myself. We both said that you were absolutely adorable yourself. And like you, I too was disappointed to not see you at the A-House. It would have been FUN to have a dance or two with you. Just know that you are always welcome in Vancouver sweet cheeks! Feel free to add those pics I emailed ya if you would like - just make sure you don’t post the one where I’m wearing the Lobster bib! LOL
Hugs!
Rome
