Yikes! Sorry!

It’s been an amazingly busy couple of weeks and after working online all day, it’s hard to get up the gumption to jump on my own blog and write something up. It’s got something to do with the summer too.

Well, my birthday party was SO-MUCH-FUN. The pic right here is from a set I took the night before the party. I was making my famous Sangria. And it was GOOOOOD. I made two huge containers of it in addition to the two infused vodkas - one berry and one pineapple. All from scratch. Sure, I may not be able to make a good cake, but I sure can make a good drink HAHA

There were anywhere from 70-90 people at my party at different parts of the night. Some came at 9pm and left early, some came past midnight and stayed late. Some never left! That’s a story for another day…

It was, by far, the biggest party I had every thrown. I mean - wow - we all went through about 6 gallons of wine, 8 gallons of vodka, 2 and a half cases of beer, and a various assortment of other alcohol - gin, rum (light and dark), tequilla, etc.

And then there were Shauna’s cupcakes. Four different kinds. And of course the cookies, cheese, crackers, grapes, olives, chex mix, gold fish, and cake.

It was all enough to make you sick. Well, not everyone…just a certain partygoer I will not name in order to protect his/her identity. It just so happened that my new downstairs neighbors had moved in the morning of my party. I met them both - and they seem really nice - so having my friend puke all over their entryway and door was…well…not too great of a “hello and welcome.”

Luckily, my lovely roommates cleaned up the mess before the morning. And my friend bought me lunch the next day. And And I emailed my downstairs neighbors to apologize and ask them out to dinner - they replied positively. So all is good.

A big thank you to everyone who came - you made my 27th a great one!!

And thank you to everyone who commented, email, and even sent my some $$ on my birthday. Very sweet of everyone!

OK - busy week ahead. This past weekend was Capital Pride here in DC and so I got nothing done except heavy drinking. I’m heading to the beach this weekend coming up so I’ve got some long work days on my hands before then.

For the rest of this evening I’m going to try and respond to some email and comments (behind about 300 as of now) and upload some fun DC pride pics.
